Bryllupsreisa

Bryllupsreisa gjekk til vakre Skottland, kor me likar oss særs godt!!

Me fekk eit flott rom på The Scotsman i Edinburgh, og me koste oss veldig.

 

  

Me såg sjølvsagt Edinburgh Castle, her sett frå Princes Street,
som tronar så flott på toppen av byen, i øverste enden av the Royal Mile

Palace of Holyrood House ligg i nederste enden av the Royal Mile,
og er slottet dronninga bur når ho er i Skottland.

Scott-monumentet

Har 287 trappetrinn, og dess høgare opp du kjem, dess smalare vert det,

men turen opp er verd det, for utsikta er fantastisk!

(Eg gjekk i høge (kile-)hælar, men det gjekk heilt fint!)

Det vart også litt tid til shopping, m.a. denne flotte handveska og eit par lekre sko

Eit par sko eg veldig gjerne ville ha, men som dei ikkje hadde i min storleik ... snufs ..
 

Ei herleg veke som gjekk altfor fort!!
Men me skal tilbake, til vårt elskede Skottland <3

Our honeymoon went to beautiful Skottland, where we just love to be!!

We got a lovely room at The Scotsman in Edinburgh, and we had a great stay there.

Of course we saw the Edinburgh Castle, here seen from Princes Street, 
sitting high in the top of the city, in the high end of the Royal Mile

 Palace of Holyrood House is at the low end of the Royal Mile,
and is where the queen lives when she is in Scotland.

 Scott-monumentet

Has 287 steps, and the further up you go, the narrower they get,

but the walk up is worth it, because the view is spectacular!

(I wore heals (wedges), but had no problems!)

You can see the Princes Gardens, and about half way up in the picture is Edinburgh Castle.

This statue of Robert The Bruce stands at the site of the Battle of Bannockburn,

where the Scots won over the English June 24th 1314

There was also time for a little shopping, 

and this nice handbag and a pair of shoes were among my catches.

There was also a pair of shoes I really wanted, 
but they didn't have them in my size ... weep weep..

A fantastic week which went too fast!!
But we are going back, to our beloved Scotland <3

... meanwhile, I listen to the bagrockband The Red Hot Chili Pipers

Etter bryllupet ..

Peonar hadde me massevis av etter bryllupet, sidan det sto på alle dei 15 kaffiborda. 

Nokre av dei fekk pynta opp heime dagane etter..

Åh! Dei er så fine og dei luktar så godt!!

Men diverre held dei seg ikkje lenge i sommarvarmen, 

så snart fekk rosene (som var til overs etter brudebuketten, og det var MANGE!!) 

sett her i både inner- og yttergangen, og dei holdt seg mykje lenger :)

Eg hadde faktisk til 2 store bukettar!! Og dei holdt seg nesten i 2 veker etter bryllupet! 

(Diktet i bakgrunnen på biletet over, er 'Endeleg', som eg skreiv til Solihjartetmannen)

Denne hadde 2 senter, og var vel ei slags siamesisk rose,

er den ikkje stilig??

Denne buketten fekk me i bryllupsgåve, er den ikkje flott?

Den var nesten like flott den dagen me skulle reisa på bryllupsreise,

eg måtte berre fjerna ein blomst (den mørke lilla midt i)

og sidan me syntest det ville vera synd å kasta den,

sette me den på grava til Solihjartetmannen si kusine,

som me mista forrige sommar.

På det vakre etasjefatet eg kjøpte på Farmors Hus ser du på nederste fat 

bordkorta til brudgommen og meg,

på øverste fat tre påskeegg frå Royal Copenhagen som eg har sikla etter LEENGE!!

We had lots of peonies left after the wedding, as they decorated 15 tables.

Some of them decorated our home the next few days..

  

Oh! They are so pretty and smell so good!!

But unfortunately the summer heat make them wither fast, and they were exchanged with the roses (leftover from the buquet, which were MANY)

in both the inner and outer hall, and they stayed fresh a lot longer :)

There were actually enough to have 2 large buqouets!! 

And stayed pretty for almost 2 weeks after the wedding!

This one had 2 centres, and was kind of a conjoined rose, isn't it cool??

(The poem in the background on the photo of the peonies is 'Endeleg' ('Finally'), 

which I wrote to my dear husband)

This buqouet was a wedding gift, isn't it beautiful?

 

It was almost as fresh the day we were leaving for our honeymoon, 

I just had to remove one flower (the dark purple in the middle)

and as we thought it would be a pity to throw it away,

we put it on the grave of my husband's cousin,

who we lost last summer.

On the beautiful cakestand I bought at Farmors Hus

you see the place cards of the groom and me on the bottom plate,

and on the top plate are three Easter eggs from Royal Copenhagen, 

which I have drooled over for a LOONG time!

Bryllup!!

Torsdag 21. og fredag 22. juni var det full fart, for me laga til bryllup!

Me fekk heldigvis svært god hjelp, både frå foreldre, søsken og tanteborn, 

og det er me VELDIG glade for!

Bord og stolar skulle bærast, oppstillast og pådekkast, og sjå kor fint det vart!

Romantiske peonar i Norgesglas fekk pynta borda , mens vakre georginer i urtepotter lyste opp i vindaugene, saman med kjærleiksdikt 
og leikedyr som skulle representera dyrelivet hjå oss :)

Så ENDELEG kom laurdagen, sjølvaste Jonsokafta,  

 då me kunne kle oss i finstasen og sei 'JA' til kvarandre!

Bryllupsnatta var på hotell (super bryllupsgåve som me var veldig takknemlege for!), 
og sjå kor fint dei hadde laga til for oss!

Thursday June 21st and Friday June 22nd were busy days, 

as we were preparing for our wedding!

We were lucky to get good help from parents, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, 

and we are VERY grateful for this!!

Tables and chairs needed to be carried, placed and decorated, 

and see how nicely it all turned out!

Romantic peonies decorated the tables, 

while beautiful georgines 'lit up' the windows, with love poems 

and toy animals representing the animals in and outside our home :)

Then FINALLY Saturday arrived, Midsummernight's Eve itself, and we could dress in our finest clothes and give each other our 'I DOs'!

We spent the wedding night at an hotel 

(a super wedding gift we were very grateful to receive!), 

and look how pretty they'd made it for us!

Mamma sine brudesko

Me skal gifta oss Jonsokafta, altså 23. juni, og eg har vore hjå skomakaren og fått ordna brudeskorne Mamma brukte for 45 år sidan.
Er dei ikkje fine??

We're getting married on Midsummer Night's Eve, which is June 23rd, and the cobbler's fixed the bridal shoes my Mom used 45 years ago.
Don't they look nice??
I'm so looking forward to wear them!!
